North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) is seeking expressions of interest for a long-term lease of the Mackay Vessel Maintenance Facility. The facility will support regional vessel maintenance, shipbuilding, and marine services. The EOI closes on July 6, 2026. This is a three-stage process: EOI, Site Visit/Lease Disclosure, and Invitation-Only Request for Proposal. Proponents must demonstrate capability, track record, quality systems, financial capacity, and local content. NQBP does not contribute capital. The lease covers land above and below high water.

A facilitated site visit is part of Stage 2 of the procurement process for shortlisted proponents. Shortlisted proponents attend a facilitated site visit.
