The University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) is seeking proposals for architectural design services for Moreton Bay Stage 3, including Building B1 and the adaptive reuse of Building A1, Level 1. The project aims to address campus growth and capacity constraints. Services will be staged, covering functional brief, schematic design, design development, tender support, construction documentation, administration, and post-construction activities. The consultancy services are expected to commence in August 2026, with the delivery of the new build and adaptive reuse by March 2030. The tender closes on June 17, 2026.
The delivery of the new build and adaptive reuse is anticipated by March 2030.
No fees will be paid to the consultant until the principal has received an invoice delivered in accordance with clause 5. 2. Invoices will comply with clause 5. 5 and contain sufficient detail to enable the principal to assess the provision of the architectural consultancy services, including against delivery dates. No invoice will be paid until thirty 30 days after receipt of a correctly rendered invoice or, if additional information is required pursuant to clause 5. 3, after receipt of the additional information.
The consultant warrants that it has the necessary skills and expertise to properly perform this agreement, and the members of the consultants team are competent and have the skills and expertise necessary to perform the architectural consultancy services on which they will be engaged.
Proposals are sought from suitably qualified and experienced design teams.
If the consultant fails to observe or perform any of its obligations pursuant to this agreement, the principal may suspend payment under this agreement and will notify the consultant in writing specifying the reason for the suspension of payment and requiring the consultant, where possible, to remedy the failure or to show cause within fourteen 14 days from the giving of such notice why the appointment of the consultant should not be terminated.
The consultant must inform itself of the principals stated requirements in respect of the performance of the architectural consultancy services and acknowledges that it has carefully considered the contents of all information made available to it by the principal for the purpose of this agreement, including any drawings, specifications, and bills of quantity if any, and examined any places at which the architectural consultancy services are to be provided.
If a dispute arises between the principal and the consultant in connection with this agreement or the provision of the architectural consultancy services, either party will give a written notice of dispute to the other, which notice will identify and provide full details of the dispute, within seven 7 days of the dispute arising.
If the consultant fails to observe or perform any of its obligations pursuant to this agreement, fails to comply with a reasonable direction of the liaison officer, assigns this agreement without consent, enters into insolvency proceedings, abandons the services, or is involved in a conflict of interest, the principal may terminate the agreement.
