Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking quotations from suitably qualified civil contractors for the construction of a pedestrian refuge on Blain Street, Blackwater. The project aims to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility, including the supply and construction of kerb ramps, prefabricated rubber pedestrian refuge islands, concrete infill, minor earthworks, surface preparation, reinstatement, signage, and traffic control. The contract will be awarded to a single supplier. Submissions will be evaluated based on price (65%), relevant experience and historic performance (25%), and development of competitive local business (10%).
The closing date for submissions is Wednesday, 6 May 2026, at 2:00 PM.
Payment terms are within 30 days of the last day of the month in which the invoice is received.
The contractor warrants that any goods supplied will be new, of merchantable quality, free from defects, and comply with national construction code performance requirements.
Submissions shall be evaluated based on price (minimum weighting 65%), relevant experience and historic performance (25%), and development of competitive local business (10%).
The tenderer is required to provide details of previous projects similar to this project, including innovations, problem-solving, added value, and referee contact details. Key personnel proposed for the project must also be detailed, including years of experience, experience in regional Queensland, and experience with similar work types.
Liquidated damages may apply if completion is not achieved by the completion date or key supply dates, at the rate stated in Schedule 1 or the request for services.
