Byron Shire Council is seeking a contractor to degas approximately **** gassed refrigerators and air conditioners annually at the Byron Resource Recovery Centre. Degassing must occur on weekdays between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm. The contract term is 1 year with two 1-year extension options. Suppliers must provide a delivery plan, nominated representative, company safety protocols, and a detailed cost breakdown. Quotes must be submitted electronically via VendorPanel by 7 July 2026. The supplier must provide a tax invoice at a frequency nominated by council, referencing services rendered, amount of units degassed, rate, and council purchase order. Payment is subject to the terms and conditions of the contract, with claims made at the frequency specified in schedule 1.
The contractor warrants that it has the necessary skills, experience, qualifications, resources, capacity, and know-how to provide the goods and/or services in accordance with the contract and that any goods will be of acceptable quality and fit for any purpose specified.
Quotes will be evaluated by a combination of price and non-price criteria, including mandatory criteria and qualitative criteria such as profile and relevant experience, quality and availability of resources, delivery plan, and value for money.
Respondents must have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN), substantial conformance with conditions of contract and the brief, workers compensation insurance for all employees, hold or be able to obtain specified insurances, and demonstrate satisfactory work health and safety and environmental management practices.
If the contractor fails to rectify serious breaches within 30 days of receiving a notice in writing from council's representative, the principal may terminate the contract immediately.
