Queensland Rail is seeking a contractor for slope stabilisation and rockfall mitigation works along the Cairns to Kuranda rail corridor. The contract will be a lump sum major works contract.
The tender documents indicate that construction is planned to commence from April 2027, subject to contract award, mobilisation and authority to mobilise approvals, with delivery staged across multiple sites and programmed around rail operational requirements and seasonal weather conditions.
The basis for payment for this contract is lump sum.
Queensland Rail will evaluate tenders based on overall value for money, considering factors such as costs to Queensland Rail, proposed local supply chain involvement, contribution to social objectives, tender price, proposed implementation program and methodology, operational capability, benefits of enhancements, compliance with tender documents, compliance with the procurement assurance model, experience and track record, performance of product samples, financial capability, performance guarantee/warranty/financial security proposal, reference checks, workplace health and safety system, quality assurance system, and environmental management system.
Tenderers must comply with the procurement assurance model and provide a declaration of compliance as requested by Queensland Rail. If required to perform the contract, tenderers must possess the necessary licenses or be members of professional bodies, with all licenses and memberships being current at the time of submission.
A mandatory tender site visit will be conducted on Tuesday 7 April, Wednesday 8 April, Thursday 9 April or Friday 10 April, commencing at 9:45 am AEST from Redlynch Queensland Rail Depot. Attendance is limited to one representative per tender submission and only by the primary tendering entity.
The performance of product samples submitted for testing by the tenderer at Queensland Rail's request is one of the evaluation criteria.
