The City of Ipswich is seeking tenders from suitably qualified suppliers for fire detection and maintenance services. This includes servicing and maintenance of facilitys fire safety installations such as fire/smoke detection systems, occupant warning systems, emergency intercommunication systems, hydrant and sprinkler systems, fire resistant door sets, fire hose reels, fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and emergency and exit lighting systems. The contract commencement date is 01 July 2026 or upon contract execution, whichever is later. The contract term is an initial two years with an option for a further two-year extension. Pricing for the initial two years will be fixed, with potential CPI increases thereafter. Suppliers must provide public liability insurance of $20 million per claim and product liability insurance of $10 million per claim. Professional indemnity insurance of $10 million per claim is also required. The tender opens on Wednesday, 01 April 2026, and closes on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, at 02:00 AM E. South America Standard Time. Supplier queries are due by Monday, 27 April 2026, at 02:00 AM E. South America Standard Time. An expected decision date is Wednesday, 06 May 2026.
The contract commencement date is 01 July 2026 or upon contract execution, whichever is later. Products are to be delivered by the delivery due date specified in the contract order.
Council will pay the supplier the amount due under an invoice within 30 days after the date of receipt of a correctly rendered invoice. Invoices for products are to be submitted within 7 days of delivery, and invoices for services within 7 days of delivery of a service.
The supplier warrants that during the warranty period, a product will not be defective, is new and unused, is free from liens, and complies with applicable laws. The warranty period is specified in Schedule 1 or, if not specified, is 12 months.

Where services are not performed in accordance with service levels, council may claim a rebate. If the supplier fails to deliver a product by the delivery due date, council may cancel the order or notify of a new delivery due date.
