The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking expressions of interest for the fourth iteration of the Consumer Challenge Panel (CCP). The CCP provides consumer insights for the AER and helps ensure consumer voices are heard in regulatory decisions. Panel members will contribute a consumer perspective to network businesses' proposals, identify key issues, and advise on whether proposals reflect consumer interests. The contract term is 3 years with potential extensions up to 24 months. Responses must be submitted electronically via Austender by Monday, 3 August 2026, 3:00 PM AEST. Key selection criteria include knowledge of the AER's role, qualifications and experience, ability to critically analyse information, provide independent consumer-centric advice, and provide robust challenge. The AER expects suppliers to comply with the Commonwealth Supplier Code of Conduct and applicable Australian standards. Payment is hourly up to a daily maximum, with reimbursement for pre-approved travel and accommodation costs.
