Request for Tender (RFT) for demolition, asbestos removal, stockpile removal, validation, and site remediation works at the former James Cook University (JCU) western campus. Tenders close on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, at 3 PM. A recommended tender briefing will be held on Tuesday, 14th July 2026, at 10 AM at the JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba Campus. Offers must be lodged electronically via the Vendor Panel website. Evaluation will be based on mandatory and qualitative criteria, not solely on price. Offers must remain valid for 120 days.

The tenderers offer will be evaluated against mandatory criteria (insurance compliance, modern slavery compliance, supplier code of conduct compliance, previous performance and/or referee reports verified) and qualitative criteria (local content, capability, capacity, methodology and program, health and safety, environmental sustainability). JCU is not evaluating offers on the sole criterion of price.
Tenderers must be suitably qualified principal contractors. Capability will be assessed based on details of experience delivering similar demolition, asbestos removal, and remediation projects, including project name, client, location, contract value, scope of works, duration, and key personnel. Capacity will be assessed based on current workload and availability.
A tender site visit is recommended and will take place at 10 AM on Tuesday, 14th July 2026, at the James Cook University, Townsville, Bebegu Yumba Campus, Douglas Western Campus Carpark between George Roberts and ACT for Kids.
The closing date for questions is Friday, 31st July 2026.
