Byron Shire Council is seeking an event manager for the Soul Street 2026 New Year's Eve event. The event is a free, family-friendly gathering in Byron Bay, aiming to enhance community safety and provide a positive New Year's Eve experience. The scope of work includes overall event management, programming, planning, stakeholder liaison, procurement of services, marketing, and on-the-day delivery. Key requirements include a focus on accessibility, inclusivity, sustainability, and local community benefit, with a specific allocation for First Nations artists and programming. The council has a budget of up to $120,000 for this contract. The event manager must comply with all legislative requirements, including child safe standards, and hold appropriate insurances. A mandatory site walkthrough is scheduled for May 11th. Quotes are to be submitted electronically via VendorPanel by May 18th, 2026.
The anticipated commencement date for the event management services is on or before June 30, 2026, with the completion date, including final reporting, set for February 27, 2027.
Payments will be made in four installments to the contractor upon receipt of agreed deliverables on the agreed timeline.
Quotes will be evaluated by a combination of price (weighted at 20%) and non-price criteria (weighted at 80%), which include profile and relevant experience, quality and availability of resources, delivery plan, social procurement, sustainable practices, and local industry engagement.
Respondents must have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN), substantially conform with the conditions of contract and the brief, hold or be able to obtain the specified insurances, and demonstrate satisfactory work health and safety and environmental management practices.
A site walkthrough will be conducted on Monday, May 11th, at 10:30 am, and attendance is mandatory.
